The Timeless Tradition of the Bridal Veil
One of the longstanding bridal traditions is the bridal veil. The use of the bridal veil is one of the oldest practices during ceremonies. Along with the oldest bridal customs, wearing a bridal veil is still apparent. Whenever the brides have their gowns designed, the veil is usually included in the plan. History has it that the veil’s purpose is to ward away the evil spirits that may do harm before she is delivered to her husband. Through time, the symbolism of the bride’s virtue is attached to the veil. Furthermore, it sends an assurance to the groom’s family that she is right for the husband. The lifting of the veil signifies possession of the husband over his wife and her presentation to his family.
